I appreciate the effort you folks have put in here, and I'm guessing that we'll be successful sooner or later. BTW, sequences came back today from the very first plate we sent to Agencourt for end sequencing. It looks awesome = ' We have completed the processing of your project 'beetSBA001'. A total of 384 clones were processed in 2 directions for a total of 768 reads. The data yielded an average pass rate of 98% with an average phred 20 read length of 675 bases.' We will send the 2nd plate today. FYI, these names will stay with the plate as numbered (I hope), so your customers will have (near) immediate access to the paired end sequences through Genbank.

I wanted to thank you folks again for the great job you do. Some of our sequencing I can't even discuss, but your results sometimes impact literally millions of chickens or thousands of cows or fish, and results go out to international organizations like OIE when we are ruling out foreign animal diseases, as has happened recently. It is really nice to be able to rely on such great results from you when the issues are so important. You allow me to sleep at night!

We have received the salamander (Ensatina) library and the sequencing is producing lots of long, unique reads, which is very exciting. Great job!

Amplicon Express BAC Libraries Comments

We have extensively collaborated with Amplicon Express on a variety of projects last couple of years. Their work was always excellent. We even published a joint paper in PNAS, since their service was going obviously above and beyond the call of duty.

Prior to establishing this collaboration, we have evaluated their work by end-sequencing ~200 clones from normal human BAC library that they produced for another client. No unambigouosly chimeric clones were found.

Their approach to the work is very impressive. We're notified immediately if there is even a whiff of suspicion that something might go wrong (though, thankfully, in all cases these proved to be false alarms). In all cases the libraries were delivered on time.

Overall, I would very highly recommend this company.

Il ne me reste plus qu'a analyser cette banque BAC...et bien que je n'ai actuellement aucune idée de son contenu, je suis persuadé de la qualité de votre travail et que je vais pouvoir sortir des données très intéressantes de cette banque.

Je pense que nous aurons encore l'occasion de se contacter, mais je tenais a vous dire par avance que j'ai été totalement satisfait du déroulement de la construction de cette banque et de la facilité de communiquer avec vous et tous les membres d'AEX.

Thank you for your message below. By the end of July, we have amplified the remaining of the seven tubes of transformants you sent us; we have estimated the total number of cfu to be around 200,000, which is not far from your own estimations and indicate that the plating efficiency had not dropped too much. We are thus very satisfied with this result.

We do not need additional services for the moment but, as I told you before, it is quite possible that I re-contact you in the next weeks or months when we have to screen the library.
