Amplicon Express specializes in performing DNA Library Screening Services (BAC, fosmid, cosmid or shotgun library clones).

We can use a pre-existing genomic DNA library, or a custom one made by the Amplicon team.

How does it work?
Amplicon screens library clones for you and delivers BAC or fosmid clone(s) verified to contain the region of interest on the insert.

What kind of Screening does Amplicon perform and how much library coverage is needed?
This will depend on the nature of the known DNA sequence data and the number of screenings needed, we will propose the appropriate library/coverage/screening tools:
- Pools & Superpools (PCR based Screening)
- Nylon Filters (screening by DNA/DNA hybridization)
- We can make calculations of the probability for finding a particular locus on a clone with libraries ranging from 1X coverage, 3X coverage, 5x coverage, 8X coverage or +10X coverage.

What does the client need to submit?
Your team simply submits ~1Kb to ~2Kb of high quality genomic DNA sequence data for each region of interest. Amplicon will design appropriate primers/probes for identifying the region of interest on a genomic DNA clone (BAC, cosmid or fosmid).

How much does it cost?

1) Do you need a custom BAC or fosmid library (or is one available)?
2) What is the name of the organism and the haploid genome size?
3) How many regions of interest for this screening project?
4) Do you have +1Kb of high quality genomic DNA sequence?
5) Brief overview of scientific goals (i.e. looking for a ~5 Kb region or looking for a 500 Kb gene complex and promotors)?
6) Complete contact information (Institution/Company, address, tel and fax).

Based on these answers to the questions above, Robert will send strategic advice, pricing information and turn around time estimates.
